水能资源境内江河纵横，分属长江和珠江水系，流域面积1 00平方公里以上的河流80多条。水能资源理论蕴藏量
406．28万千瓦，可开发300．31万千瓦，目前仅开发1 35．46万千瓦，占45．1％。
Hydropower Rivers and steams crisscross this land，and they belong in the Yangtze River system and the Pearl River system separately；more than 80 have a drainage area over 100km2。The theoretical water reserves are 4,062，800 kilowatts and 3,003，100 kilowatts are exploitable．At present only 1，354，600 kilowatts，45．1％of total has been exploited．
生物资源
有种子植物3955种，食用植物1 78种，药用植物973种，工业用植物236种，花卉及观赏植物285种，其中国家保护植物31种，另有竹荪、鸡枞、牛肝菌等数十种野生食用茵。

矿产资源
已探明有较大开发价值的矿产资源29种。其中，煤炭保有储量85．8亿吨，占云南省的36％，精查储量46亿吨，远景储量272亿吨，占云南省储量的51％以上，富源县老厂优质无烟煤矿区被称为“中国江南第一大煤田”；重晶石3．39亿吨；磷矿预测储量63亿吨，探明储量1 0亿吨，占云南省的1／3，居云南第二位；铁矿3400万吨，居云南省第8位；硫铁矿3．55亿,吨，水泥生产用石灰岩4.47亿吨，均居云南省第一位；煤层气500亿立方米，天然气1 80亿立方米；铅锌及稀有金属保有量360万吨，远景储量800万吨，居云南省第二位；
Mineral Deposits
Among the known minerals，29 have been proven valuable to exploitation．The recoverable deposits of coal are 8．58 billion tons．36％that of the province；4．6 billion tons are promising after detailed exploration；the future deposits are 27．2 billion tons，more than 51％of the prow‘nce．Laochang，a township in Fuyuan，famous for its high—quality anthracite．comes to be known as the“largest coalmine in South China”．It has been estimated that the reserves of heavy spar are 339 million tons；the prognostic reserves of phosphorus rock 6．3billion tons，the known reserves 1 billion tons，making up one third of or the second place in the province；ironore 34 million tons，the 8th place of the province；the reserves of troilite 355 million tons，and limestone forcement 447 million tons，both taking the fist place in the province；coal-bed gas 50 billion cubic meters；naturalgas 18 billion cubic meters；lead，zinc and rare metals are 3．6 million tons and future deposits 8 million tons，taking the second place in Yunnan．???
农业发展
曲靖是亚洲最大的优质烤烟基地和云南省重要的粮食、油料、畜牧、蚕茧、马铃薯生产基地。全市土地资源总量4330．5万亩，其中耕地占20％，林地、草地占50％。2007年农业总产值204．6亿元，增加值1 1 8．6亿元。全市粮食总产量2 1 9．7万吨，烤烟总产量1 7．6万吨，油料产量9.5万吨，蔬菜产量1 57．8万吨，生猪存栏479万头，羊存栏1 64．7万只，肉类总产量85．5万吨。
Developed Agriculture
Qujing is the largest base for the production of high—quality tobacco in Asia and functions as an important base in Yunnan for grain，oilseed，husbandry，silkworm cocoon and potato．The land resources total 43．305 million mu(1mu≈667m22。)，20％of which is arable land and 50％timberland and grassland．In 2007 its agricultural output value is CNY 20．46 billion，and the added value is CNY 1 1．86 billion．The output volumes of staple products are as follows：the total grain output is 2．197 million tons，tobacco 176 thousand tons，oilseed 95 thousand tons．vegetable products 1.578 million tons，4．79 million head of pig livestock，164．7 million head of sheep livestock．meet output 855 thousand tons.
工业发达
曲靖市工业门类齐全，基础雄厚，已形成以煤炭、电力、机械、纺织、冶金、化工、建筑建材、食品等行业为支柱的工业体系。2007年工业总产值787．1亿元，增加值354．6亿元。主要产品产量：原媒3466．2万吨：焦炭767.1 X吨；卷烟48 1．2亿支；发电量298．2亿千瓦时；黄磷8.5万吨；水泥449．2万吨；汽车

Solid Industrial Foundation
